Disaster Relief Shelters: Recent Developments

Disaster Relief Shelters earned its 501c3 status from the U.S. Government last week. This now allows donations to be listed as tax deductible in accordance with applicable laws for American citizens.

DRS will use PayPal for its donation conduit. In addition to a general appeal for much needed support, DRS asks that you or your organization consider sponsoring a home, dormitory or mutli-family dwelling.

Even after nine months of international aid and assistance there is much to be done. Residents of Sichuan still live in tent cities, share a bathroom with up to 100 other families, lack any viable heat in their homes, have no running water in the current shelters and no cooking facilities…
